One of the best parts of the Samurai is that it is extremely easy to use. A button on the side turns and quickly greeted with the welcome screen. From this display, you can record videos, enter into playback mode, go to monitor mode, format a disc, turn on time code triggering and choose the files are labeled as progressive interlaced or progressive.
There are very few settings in menu on the Samurai, which makes it easy to use and quick to implement. If you use a camera with time code “record” Samurai can easily configured to display the time code to run and to put it on record. I found within 2 or 3 frame cameras that it goes on recording but the Samurai trigger, which is not in all the cameras and in most cases will delay the time of capturing. You can also press the red record button on the LCD touch screen or if you have a camera, you can connect the LANC controller in Samurai then connect the camera.
In terms of cost per GB are very affordable because they are giving us a huge memory in lesser cost. . Discs rotate between 5400 and 7200 rpm, and this means that they are high enough to play gyroscopic forces. Rotate the drive too fast may charge to drop or damage the main part of valuable disc. Samurai however, can also use solid state drives (SSD) which are profitable and very fast memory devices without changing any material or parts. If you bump your Samurai around an SSD is the best method to go, but if you need a lot hard drive storage then it may work best for you in this cost. In this manner, if the drive is lost or damaged that the failure does not lose much of the data and the resources.
The buttons on the home screen to toggle the PsF video recording. PsF is the technique used to send 1920 × 1080 progressive images via HD -SDI. PsF is used by almost all Photo 1080P devices. It is smart because it allows you to connect a progressive interlaced camera to monitor, and everything is working perfect. It allows taking the progressive image and dividing into two camps before passing through the cable. So for the receiving looks like an interlaced signal, but as it is temporal (time) between the two sides of a progressive image.
POWER AND CONSTRUCTION:
These are very common batteries that can be purchased at the lowest price. Atoms will also provide you with wireless adapter D- tap if you want to take power from a 12v battery. The batteries are hot swappable so in theory you could take forever, or at least until it is full hard.
For the money the samurai is almost not possible to beat. Is well established, very capable and has good flexibility of recording media, with the ability to choose the ProRes (or DNxHD) codec and media types (SSD or HDD).
